Forces

British

With 750 points the British suffered a bit like the Germans in that it isn't a huge amount. Fully aware that intelligence indicated the presence of German armour the Brits enlisted the services of a Cromwell and 6pdr for some punch. Given the scenario the 6pdr  would likely be good from a defensive position. The rest of the force was fairly universal force with some infantry squads supported by a light mortar, sniper and piat teams and for some added mobility a Dimiler armoured car.

Pictures: Ariel views of the battlefield. The Germans would deploy on the left and the British initial force would deploy in and around the bunker area in the center. The remaining force would come on the right side of the picture.

Having misplaced much of my scenery prior to the game the game was based around the outskirts of Vimont so included more farm land. The central objective was a sandbag control bunker. The British deployed a squad in the bunker and the 6pdr in an adjacent sandbag redoubt. Despite the cover on the field it would still have a good arc of vision and make any German armour think twice.

The Germans split into two groups. One squad in the truck and the Kubelwagon on the left flank and the rest on the right flank. The plan was simple - encircle and take the bunker and hold it against the British reinforcements.

Like all best plans it did not survive first contact with the enemy....
